My biggest problem when it comes to spending money, is not going out drinking or buying the latest fashion accessories, my problem is books, I'm seriously addicted.
Most girls/women my age tend to go out at the weekends, having fun with their friends and partying, but me I like to snuggle up with the duvet and read.
My addiction is so bad, I buy books to add to my ever growing collection, just to say I have them, even though I have over 100 to read, and I also have a problem that If I know a book is part of a series, I can't just buy the first one, I have to buy the whole set.
One of the best places to buy books is Amazon, you can pre-order books and get books at half the price than your nearest book store, in waterstones they sell books at RRP price, but Amazon have independent sellers which sell things at their own price.
Some of the books I have bought were used, but for the price I really don't mind, and I am glad to become their new owner,
What I Bought:
Autumn Rose by Abigail Gibbs - The highly anticipated sequel to The Dark Heroine: Dinner with a VampireHer fate is set in stone…Autumn Rose lives in a sleepy seaside town in the south-west of England, but buried deep under the surface of her quiet life are dark secrets. Swirling marks on her skin mark her out as having extraordinary power, but at school she is shunned and condemned by the very people she is sworn to protect.
I bought this book because I have its prequel The Dark Heroine, I still haven't read it yet but like I said I like to have the full collection, so I bought it when I found out it had been released.
before we met by Lucie Whitehouse - A whirlwind romance. A perfect marriage.
Hannah Reilly has seized her chance at happiness. Until the day her husband fails to come home . . .
And can you ever really know what happened before you met?
Amazon recommend this to me as I had bought similar books, so after reading a little about it I bought it, and I'm really looking forward to reading it.
Captivated By You by Sylvia Day - Gideon calls me his angel, but he's the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own.The vows we'd exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened up old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp; my greatest fears becoming my reality; my love tested in ways I wasn't sure I was strong enough to bear.
This is the fourth book in the Crossfire Series, I have read the other three in the series and I fell in love, this series is quite similar to 50 Shades Of Grey. But I reckon it is dirtier and has more of a racier story.
Happily Ever After by Harriet Evans - Absorbing storytelling at its very best - the compelling novel from the Sunday Times bestselling authorYou can’t escape the ties that bind. The past catches up with you no matter how far you try to run…
This is a story of a girl who doesn’t believe in happy endings. Or happy families. It’s the story of Eleanor Bee, a shy, book-loving girl who vows to turn herself into someone bright, shiny and confident, someone sophisticated. Someone who knows how life works.
But life has a funny way of catching us unawares. Turns out that Elle doesn’t know everything about love. Or life. Or how to keep the ones we love safe….
This book was also recommended to me by Amazon, and what stood out to me, was how similar the character was to myself, I love books and I used to be shy, in till one day I just thought right time to be confident, so I had to buy this!
Beautiful Disaster, Walking Disaster, Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire - Suffering from Fifty Shades withdrawal symptoms? Then meet Travis...Good Girl. Abby Abernathy doesn't drink or swear and she works hard. Abby believes she has created enough distance between her and the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college, her dreams of a new beginning are quickly challenged by the university's walking one-night stand. Bad Boy. Travis Maddox, handsome, built, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs - and wants - to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight club, and his days as the notorious college Lothario. A disaster waiting to happen...Intrigued by Abby's resistance to his charms, Travis tricks her into his life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain celibate for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis' apartment for the same amount of time. Or the start of something beautiful? Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match. Or that this is the start of an obsessive, intense relationship that will lead them both into unimaginable territory...
I started reading this a while a go, but I think I borrowed it and never got to finish it, so I bought the whole series, I really can't wait to start these and let you know what I thought of them.
Have you read any of these? And what were your opinions? (Without giving away spoilers)
